Hotter and more humid

I was outside only sparingly today. The geezer tennis group, being of sound mind, canceled the usual 3:30 pm tennis competition today. It is the first cancellation ever for heat, but with heat indexes over 110 degrees we judged discretion to outweigh valor. The high temperature of the day at the weather station about ten blocks from here was 97 with a dew point of 79.

I mowed the lawn this morning before eleven and could have wrung the sweat out of the shirt immediately after the task.

My tomato plants love the heat and humidity. I harvested the first tomato over the weekend and shared it equally with the Princess and the Unky. There will be many more. The photo shows three tomato plants and a red Wilson tennis racket for scale.

The forecast for tomorrow in Paris is a high of 68 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

I suspect that 68 and cloudy will feel pretty good. Wise choice to skip the tennis wars today. Stay hydrated. (Or leave town.)
